Spatially variant apodisation for sidelobe suppression in near range radar imagery

چکیده
High sidelobes greatly reduce the quality of radar imageries. Under near range condition, sidelobe suppression becomes more intractable due to space-variant characteristic wavenumber spectrum. The Spatially variant apodisation (SVA) method is extended for in first multiplies original image by a compensation term so that spectra all targets shift same central position. Then, spatially weighting scheme with changeable adopted suppress sidelobes. Based on these two procedures, effectively overcomes effect Similar SVA method, proposed can while maintaining mainlobe width. In addition, since it implemented domain, this post-processing operation and very conducive parallel processing. Both 2-D 3-D measured data verify its effectiveness.

Range Sidelobe Suppression Using Complementary Sets in Distributed Multistatic Radar Networks
We propose an alternative waveform scheme built on mutually-orthogonal complementary sets for a distributed multistatic radar. Our analysis and simulation show a reduced frequency band requirement for signal separation between antennas with centralized signal processing using the same carrier frequency. While the scheme can tolerate fluctuations of carrier frequencies and phases, range sidelobe...
متن کاملA New Sidelobe Reduction Technique For Range Resolution Radar
In radar and communication applications not only low time sidelobes but also uniform sidelobes are important. Polyphase codes have low sidelobes and are more Doppler tolerant, but correlated sidelobes are not uniform. New filters are modeled in this paper for polyphase codes to reduce the sidelobes and also to generate uniform sidelobes. Uniform sidelobe pattern is useful for detection of weak ...
متن کاملLow Power LFM Pulse Compression RADAR with Sidelobe suppression M
One of the parameters of the pulsed RADAR that contributes range capability is the average power of the transmitter. The average power can be increased by increasing the peak power or transmitted pulse width or both. The complexity in the design of transmitter components to withstand high peak power is the most challenging task. On the other hand larger transmitted pulse width affects the RADAR...
متن کاملCharacterization of Range Sidelobe Modulation Arising from Radar-Embedded Communications
When information sequences are embedded into radar waveforms by means of coding diversity, the resulting radar emissions then change on a pulse-to-pulse basis during a coherent processing interval (CPI). As such, pulse compression of these different waveforms leads to different sidelobe structures, giving rise to range sidelobe modulation (RSM) of the clutter. The presence of RSM induces a part...
متن کاملRadar Imaging of Sidelobe Suppression Based on Sparse Regularization
Synthetic aperture radar based on the matched filter theory has the ability of obtaining two-dimensional image of the scattering areas. Nevertheless, the resolution and sidelobe level of SAR imaging is limited by the antenna length and bandwidth of transmitted signal. However, for sparse signals (direct or indirect), sparse imaging methods can break through limitations of the conventional SAR m...
